🧘

Beginner-friendly always

No flexibility, fitness level, or yoga knowledge required. The puppies are the stars. The yoga just keeps the flow fun.

πŸ“Έ

Built for memories

Expect lap cuddles, face licks, little giggles, and the kind of photos grandparents immediately ask you to send.

πŸŽ‰

Perfect for parties too

Private birthday pawties, family celebrations, and group sessions turn ordinary weekends into something unforgettable.

An experience that feels
instantly magical

Puppy yoga, also called dog yoga or doga, combines gentle, low-pressure yoga with supervised puppy play. At Pawty Yoga in Houston, TX, we bring pre-screened puppies into a cozy studio session so guests ages 7 and up can move, laugh, and cuddle their way through 75 minutes of pure joy.

1
Come as you are Wear comfy clothes, bring your phone, and leave the pressure behind. You do not need to be "good at yoga."
2
Meet the puppies Our handlers introduce the puppies safely so guests can enjoy those first tail-wagging, lap-snuggling moments right away.
3
Flow a little, laugh a lot Gentle poses and playful breaks keep the session moving, but the mood is always light, flexible, and fun.
4
Leave happier than you arrived Guests leave talking about it all week, with photos, smiles, and a weekend plan they're glad they booked.

Why kids & families love it

Because puppies are playful, silly, cuddly, and full of surprise. Every session feels like a tiny adventure everyone will talk about for days.

Why adults love it

It's easy, screen-free, photo-worthy, and a genuinely fun way to unwind, no yoga experience needed, no judgment, just puppies.

Why casual guests love it

You don't need to be a hardcore yogi. A lot of people come for the puppies and leave feeling lighter and happier.

Why it feels different

It's not a formal class and it's not chaotic free-for-all play. It's a carefully run joy experience with puppies at the center.

Warm, playful, and still
professionally run

Every guest at Pawty Yoga Houston should feel joy the second they walk in, and confidence the whole time they're there. That's why safety, cleanliness, and handler supervision are built into every part of our puppy yoga sessions.

πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ

Supervised at all times

Certified handlers and session staff are present throughout the experience to guide safe, calm puppy interaction.

🧼

Cleaned between every session

Mats, floors, and touchpoints are disinfected before and after events using animal-safe cleaning practices.

🐢

Gentle, pre-screened puppies only

We use age-appropriate puppies selected for temperament, health, and comfort with human interaction.

πŸ’›

Puppy-first care

Rest breaks, quiet zones, hydration, and handler monitoring help ensure puppies stay happy, safe, and never overstimulated.

Safe doesn't have to feel stiff. Our goal is simple: a joyful, easy experience for guests and a carefully managed environment for every puppy in the room. We wrote it all down: read our full Puppy Welfare Standard →

How Pawty Yoga is different
from the national chains

If you've looked at puppy yoga in Houston before, you've probably seen the touring chains, companies that pop in once a quarter from Dallas or Austin. Here's what's different about a class with us.

Local, not a chain

Founded in Memorial. Run by a Houstonian, for Houston families, not a brand parachuting in for one weekend a quarter.

Ethical breeders only

8 to 16 week-old puppies from breeder partners we've personally vetted. Every standard is published, read the checklist β†’

Capped at 20 mats

Real puppy time per person, not a 30-mat room with a wait. Most chains run 25 to 30; we hold the line at 20 on purpose.

Kids welcome

Family-friendly by design. Ages 7 and up, accompanied by a participating adult. Not an afterthought.

Real venue, real floor

Fred Astaire Dance Studio's sprung floor in the Memorial Area, easier on knees than the carpet rooms most pop-ups use.

$60 all-in

No add-ons, no upsells, no surprise fees. The $60 you book is the $60 you pay. Phones & cameras welcome, bring whatever captures the day.

built with intention

Pawty Yoga was born from a simple idea: bring together two things that make people genuinely happy, puppies and movement, and create an experience people in Houston can actually look forward to on a weekend.

We're a small, Houston-based team building something we care deeply about. Every detail, the puppies we source, the venue we chose, the way sessions are run, is intentional. We're not trying to be the biggest puppy yoga brand. We're trying to be the best one in the room.

Our June 27 grand opening in the Memorial area sold out, and we're just getting started. Next up: August 8 and 9, 2026.

πŸ“ Houston-based Built for and by the Houston community. Memorial Area is just the beginning.
🐾 Puppy-first Every puppy is pre-screened, handler-supervised, and never overworked.
🧘 All are welcome, ages 7 and up No yoga experience needed. Public sessions are for ages 7 and up with an adult, just show up ready to have a good time.
πŸ’› Small & intentional Max 20 guests per session, so every experience feels personal, not crowded.
DJ Cotlow, founder of Pawty Yoga, with three puppies
Meet your host, DJ Cotlow

A lifelong dog owner who fell for puppy yoga at his daughter's very first class, and brought it to the Memorial area, which didn't have a home for it until now. With a background in events and two decades in contracts and vendor relationships, that's why our breeder partners are vetted in person and every session runs the way it should. Kids and adults leave lighter than they came, we can't out-spend the national chains, so we out-care them.

Real questions.
Clear answers.

Everything families, guests, breeders, and venues usually want to know before booking or partnering.

Is Pawty Yoga good for kids?+
Yes. Our public sessions are for ages 7 and up, accompanied by a participating adult, supervised throughout, with handlers guiding safe puppy interaction. For younger kids, we offer flexible private birthday parties.
Do we need yoga experience?+
Not at all. Most guests are complete beginners. The experience is playful, low-pressure, and designed so everyone can participate comfortably.
How old are the puppies?+
Typically 8 to 16 weeks old, depending on the session format, breed, and handler guidance. We only include age-appropriate puppies ready for safe socialization.
What if my child is shy or nervous?+
That's okay. Many kids warm up at their own pace. Our team encourages calm, gentle interaction and lets the puppies help break the ice naturally.
How do you handle cleanliness?+
We clean mats, floors, and common surfaces between sessions, use animal-conscious sanitation practices, and keep event flow structured and manageable.
Is there parking at the studio?+
Yes. There is free parking at Fred Astaire Dance Studios in the Memorial area, with a shared lot and side-street overflow. Plan to arrive about 10 minutes early to check in.
Can I take photos during the session?+
Yes, please do. Phones and cameras are welcome and the puppies make wonderful subjects. We just ask that flash stays off so the puppies stay comfortable.
Can I book a private event or birthday pawty?+
Absolutely. Private events are one of our most popular offerings for birthdays, family celebrations, and small group experiences.
Do you partner with breeders?+
Yes, selectively. We're interested in partnerships with ethical, reputable breeders who value structured socialization and transparent care standards.
Do you work with outside venues?+
Yes. We can discuss hosted events, recurring sessions, and venue partnerships that align with our safety, cleanliness, and brand standards.

What is puppy yoga,
and why is everyone talking about it?

Puppy yoga is exactly what it sounds like: a gentle, beginner-friendly yoga class with adorable puppies wandering the room. You stretch, breathe, hold a soft pose, and somewhere in the middle, a puppy decides your mat is the best place in the world to take a nap. That's the whole pitch, and it works because it pairs two of the most reliable feel-good experiences anyone has ever invented (yoga and puppies) into one 75-minute window.

It originated as a wellness format about a decade ago and has since become one of the most popular experiential events in cities that finally got tired of brunches and escape rooms. Pawty Yoga is the Memorial & Spring Branch area's first dedicated puppy yoga studio, a real studio space, professionally run sessions, and puppies from vetted ethical breeders.

Is puppy yoga safe?

Yes, when it's run properly. At Pawty Yoga, every puppy comes from an ethical breeder partner we've personally vetted, is current on age-appropriate vaccinations, and is only invited to sessions if they're comfortable in social environments. Handlers are present the entire class to manage interactions, and the studio is cleaned between every session. Kids and seniors join the same classes adults do; the format is gentle on both ends of the age range.

Do I need yoga experience to come?

Not at all. The flow is built for absolute beginners, no balance poses you've never done, no Sanskrit you have to learn, no judgment if you spend half the class on the floor petting a puppy instead of holding a pose. If you've never been to a yoga class in your life, you'll be fine. If you're a regular at a power yoga studio, expect to slow down and enjoy it.

What should I bring (and wear)?

A mat if you have one (we have spares), a water bottle, and clothes you'd wear to a normal yoga class, leggings, soft tees, athleisure. Skip the brand-new white pants. Skip strong perfumes (puppies have sensitive noses). Phones and cameras are welcome, taking photos is part of the fun. Capture the moments freely throughout the 75 minutes. Please arrive about 10 minutes early to check in and find your mat before we start.

How is this different from goat yoga or cat yoga?

Goat yoga is rural by nature, with barn settings, hooves on mats, and lots of room. Cat yoga is calmer (cats are cats; they nap). Puppy yoga sits in the middle: indoor, social, energetic in bursts, and the puppies actually engage with you. And because the puppies come from breeders rather than a resident herd, some may still be available to buy, so a guest now and then leaves having asked the breeder about taking one home.

Are the puppies adoptable?

Not in the rescue sense, no. Our puppies come from ethical breeders we partner with, not a shelter, so we do not sell or place puppies ourselves. But if a breeder still has puppies available and you fall for one during class, you are welcome to ask them directly about price and availability. The breeder handles every sale and screens buyers carefully. At the session, our job is simply to socialize the puppies and give them a fun, low-stress morning.

Why we built Houston's
first dedicated puppy yoga studio

Houston has more dog-friendly cafΓ©s per capita than most US cities its size. It also has one of the fastest-growing wellness scenes in Texas, yoga studios on every other block in the Heights, climbing gyms in EaDo, group-fitness on Sawyer Heights. And yet, until Pawty Yoga, there was no real puppy yoga experience anywhere in the city. Reviewers searching for "puppy yoga Houston" kept landing on national chains' city pages, companies running pop-ups in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio that visited Houston once a quarter, charged premium prices, and disappeared.

We're a Houston-based studio, run by Houstonians, partnered with vetted ethical breeders. Sessions happen in the Memorial Area at Fred Astaire Dance Studio, a polished sprung-floor space that's already a local fixture. We host families from Memorial, Spring Branch, the Heights, River Oaks, the Energy Corridor, the Galleria, Bellaire & West U, Downtown & Midtown, Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Cypress, and Pearland, and we host private events anywhere in the metro area.

If you've been looking for something to do with friends, family, or a team that isn't another brunch, another rooftop, or another escape room, this is exactly that. Beginner-friendly, social, photogenic, and the only thing you'll do this month that ends with a puppy asleep on your shins.
